Fish is right-on on the salt issue. But that's a consumption-wide issue; U.S.
food was/is too cheap so the only way to generate higher revenue/profits is the
change (A) raise prices (not likely) or (B) change the culture over generations
to accept huge portions.
My friends and family from outside the U.S. continue to be amazed at the size of
our meals and beverage containers, particularly coffee sizes. |

I would imagine that Salt, the movie, will be like other Angelina Jolie movies
and will suck. Of course I don't know for sure because I have not seen it and
don't plan to waste my time watching it.
People have used salt, the mineral, on their food for centuries and is good for
you in moderation. The problem with many people's diet is that they eat too
much fast food and it has a very high content of salt for preservation, then
they add their own salt to their diet on top of that. Too much, or too little,
salt is not healthy. |

I came up with a new idea this weekend. From now on, when I go to the doctor,
I'm going to take a pass on the height/weight station that they immediately
take you too regardless of the reason you are seeing the doctor.
Why you may ask? Because the BMI the government is using to make important
judgements about your health care is not correct. They intend to use a simple
height/weight chart to 'guess' what your Body fat ratio is and that does not
take into account activity levels or muscle from working out.
If you've not checked out this BMI calculation, you should, as it WAY out of
wack and they intend to use that as a basis for just about every decision they
make in the 'new' health care fraud.

I assume bob's comment about popcorn without salt is to do with the health
factors and not a critique of Angelina Jolie's latest movie.
Personally I'd go one step further and recommend eating EVERYTHING without
salt (or at least added salt). I've been on the no salt kick for many years
now, done wonders for the blood pressure (not just as it relates to the
spending of money to see another crap holywood movie). Though I do recommend
adding other herbs and spices to enhance the flavour of a meal. |
